about Bittersweet Closure

The doors to a new semester opened today and as I stepped into the school campus for class for the first time in months, a gush of utter excitement surged through me - a sense of sheer anticipation for what could be another hectic yet fantastic semester. It felt good to be back in school with all that sense of posibility before me.

But, of course, before moving on, a sense of closure needs to be established. It is, as I've written before, the only way one can move on triumphantly from any occasion, including holidays, without a sense of nostalgia.

Thus, behold, 3 significant memories (among tons of others)...

Pride And Prejudice - It took me quite a while but after 3 weeks and a day, I finished the book on Friday, 13th October at 2:54pm! What a read, it was - the best I've had in years. There's nothing like reading a book with a writing style terribly similar to that of yours, but of a much higher level, so you feel like you're being marvelously educated with every line. Jane Austin's work is extraordinary. I started on The Devil Wears Prada today and will visit another of Jane Austin's writings, Emma, once I'm done. I foresee another two exciting reads in the weeks to come, and yet another level of growth in interest towards reading in the rest of my lifetime to come.

David Weekend - My One Desire blossomed within me once again in this camp. A new, truer and more meaningful perspective to the story of David was visited. A phenomenal experience was gained. A more positive point of view on the subject of inter parish relationships was achieved. Deeper friendships were established. Terence, Rachel, Reginald and Ranneth, I'm glad you were all part of this.
.
Youth Council Camp - For a long time, I thought the Youth Council was a group of people I could be on close terms with only on a professional level. This impression was dramatically altered with this camp. Struggling through this planned-to-be-torturous weekend about the island with this group of people and opening up to them about my greatest weakness and my growing-up stage and thus, giving a hefty piece of myself to each of them, as well as receiving a piece of each of them through their sharings, for the first time, in an obvious way, these members of the council became real people to me and, in the same way, I became a real person to them. They have become, in the truest way possible, a group of people I have come to trust and ardently love. What a journey.
.
Every day in our respective lives, we are educated of a fresher prospect of this world. Through these events, I know that I have grown and learnt more than I usually do, and they will, for sure, be significant parts of me and the person I will eventually be.
.
Closure established.
